BROADCAST
AND COVERAGE |
| |
Why
is WBGN on so many different channels and only on certain cable systems? |
|
| |
Each
cable company that carries WBGN has a separate agreement to do so.
Not all cable systems have agreed to carry WBGN yet.
The cable channel designation depends on the channel number assigned by
the individual cable system. If you are not
sure what channel WBGN is on your cable system, please call your cable provider
or visit our
Channel
Listing
page for more information. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Is WBGN broadcast over the air and what is over the air signal? |
|
| |
WBGN
runs primarily out of 12 separate broadcast towers throughout the Pittsburgh and
surrounding areas. This signal is described as "over the air" because
it is picked up by the viewer with an antenna. Please
visit our
Channel
Listing
page for more information. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Why
does the over-the-air signal sometimes go out or have reduced
broadcast quality? |
|
| |
Over the air
signal depends on the weather conditions at the broadcast tower and the
reception area because this signal travels through the air and can be blocked by
various obstacles. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
I have cable, but I
can't find WBGN. |
|
| |
Please call your cable operator and ask them where WBGN is in your
lineup. If they say they do not carry WBGN, please ask them to
immediately do so. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Is
WBGN on satellite? |
|
| |
No,
we are currently not carried on satellite systems such as Direct TV or Dish
Network.
These viewers will need an antenna or rabbit ears to pick up WBGN.
Again, viewer demand
is key to expanded
satellite coverage. Viewers need to call, write, or e-mail their
satellite provider and request WBGN. |
